Merciful Mercy David

There is a voice you can not miss when listening to radio Akwa Ibom
90.5mghz; sensational, unique, dazzling and merciful. The voice is none
other than that of Mercy David.

Mercy David started broadcasting in 1994 with Cross River Radio (CRBC)
as a program presenter, at some point, she started running continuity.
She left Cross River Broadcasting Corporation for Radio Akwa Ibom in
2000.
While communicating with her, she talked about the challenges involved
in broadcasting, which she view not as challenges but as part of the
job; an opening for progress.

The challenging yet progressive points she outlined includes: keeping
abreast with genre of music fitting a program, having knowledge about
current musics making waves, improving pronounciation skills, et al.

She also highlighted the joy she gets from broadcasting, which
centered on touching lives either by the songs played and style of
presentation.

"Broadcasting is prestigious, don't let it get into your head. You
should be humble to learn, anybody can correct you. Keep learning, do
not think that you knew everything before becoming a broadcaster. You
have to be humble" she adviced those that have interest in
broadcasting.

When asked why she does not attach a nick-name to her name, she
emphasized on the importance and pleasure she derived from her name;
especially the meaning of 'mercy'.

If you listen to her often, you'll hear a stain of mercy in her voice.
